ONE YEAR?!?!?!
We have had our little man in our lives for one whole year! Where has the time gone? But it does feel like Finn has been here forever, too. He fits right in! Our missing puzzle piece!
This has been a great month of development for Finn! He took his first steps on 12/28/11 from the coffee table to me, when I was bending down writing a check for Ruth! It was totally unexpected and surprising! He just let go of the table and came towards me! Ruth and I both stared in astonishment! He is also getting very imaginative...he now picks up a play phone and holds it to his ear and brushes his hair with a brush as of 1/3/12. He weighs 22lb, 14oz (50th percentile), is 29 3/8" tall (25th percentile), and has an 18 3/4" head circumference (75th percentile). He is by far our smallest child at this stage! Let's hope he catches up to his sisters! He is still in size 3 diapers, and mostly 18 month clothes. He has 6 teeth now, and they are short and wide, he looks so funny- I say they are his Shrek/Ogre teeth! He is definitely getting chubbier, but he is still the slimmest of all my kids at this point! He is getting very physical, and has to be reprimanded now not to hit, as he loves to smack at us all! He had his first run-in with another child at the pirate park in Port Orange when this little boy, probably about 2 years old, came over and Finn just smacked him on top of the head! Too much wrestling with Daddy, I guess! This month, Delaney started riding her bike without training wheels, so that has given us alot of freedom lately. Finn now has a seat on the back of my bike and loves riding around behind me. Lucy sometimes stays home with Nana, or rides in the bike trailer behind me. Finn has a habit of extending out his legs or pinching my butt with his little toes, making my ride a bit harder! I am debating on what to do with his hair! I want to try growing it out into a little surfer cut style, but I also like him with a buzz cut...it's in between right now, so he looks a bit sloppy...
Finn celebrated his first Christmas and it was awesome! Jeff and Sarah had driven down to surprise us for the holidays, and Super-Papa was here, too. They all came over Christmas morning at 7am so they got to witness Finn see the tree with presents under it. He woke up before the girls, so it was nice and quiet and he just crawled around looking at all of the new things! He got a ride on Firetruck that he loves, and was in all day! He also got a tent, bouncey textured balls, a big yellow truck, a basketball net, and a little work bench! He loved it all, but most of all he loved the carrots we left for the reindeer! He chewed on them all night on Christmas Eve when we put them out, and he went to the hearth first thing Christmas morning to get them back! Haha! Then the girls came out and he loved just sitting in boxes and watching all the commotion! The girls got a trampoline and he loves to sit and bounce in it!
We spent New Year's Eve at a party and the Brantley's then at nurse Janice's house. Finn lasted for the first party, then we put him to bed at Dan and Rhonda's so we could walk across the street the Janice's for their bon fire and use the monitor. Welcome to 2012, Finn!
