Fun with the Deising Boys

We had a great May! Delaney graduated from VPK, Lucy finished her 2 year old class with Mrs. Parris, and Finn has come into his own!  He's just a happy, healthy, easy baby!  We took a great trip to Asheville, NC to visit Rosie and Tim and Grampy and Granny.

Lucy's End of Year Program

Lucy's 2 Year Old Class put on a great end-of-year program! A lot of songs and cute kids! She did great, and enjoyed an ice cream party with Mrs. Parris after!

Since Finn’s 4 month update…he is so much better!

Since Finn’s 4 month check up and change in medication dosage, he has been doing so well!!  He is now taking 2.5 ml of Zantac, which has been increased  instead of our plan to decrease.  They think he just has a severe case of acid reflux and will have to be on the meds longer than planned.  He is sleeping so peacefully during  the night now, I feel bad that he’d been uncomfortable all along.  He doesn't need to be swaddled anymore and falls asleep on his own with a binky and a little lovie bear.  He’s now started eating rice cereal and LOVES it!  He leans in for the spoon- so cute!  He also has tried some Puffs- I can tell he’ll be a ravenous (and messy) eater in the future!  He is now grabbing at his toys on his playmat, grabbing his binkies, etc.  Those hands and eyes have really connected!  He's even had his 2nd haircut...the mohawk is gone and he looks like a big boy now!!

And there is just something about Delaney that Finn adores!  He smiles at her all the time!

Delaney's End of Year VPK Party!

Delaney's VPK class had an amazing end of year party!  The had a bounce house and snow cone machine, did face painting and tie-dying t-shirts, and made a graduation picture frame, followed by a pizza party! The kids had a great time and I was so fortunate to be able volunteer and witness it all!

The teacher's end of year gift from the students!  Each student helped form a letter!  It was framed and matted and presented at their Graduation!  Delaney is the T!

Three Little Fish

We've been having a lot of fun in the pool lately!  Delaney is swimming like a fish: twisting, turning, diving, cannonballing, etc!  Lucy is still learning...she can swim but not take a breath yet.  She spends a lot of time on the wall- getting cherry-toes and fingers! She wants us to call her "Ariel" from the Little Mermaid movie!  Today was the first day that Finn was really in the pool and enjoying it!  He'll be another little fish soon!

Finn started on food this week!  He immediately understood to eat from the spoon, and loved the rice cereal! He has since had carrots, green beans, and squash, and seems to love them all!  I made a huge batch of homemade organic carrots, and I'm so excited to research more flavor combinations once we are sure he has no allergies!

Happy 4 Months, Finn!

Finn is 4 months old already!  Time has flown by, but it also feels like he's been part of our family forever! We are falling more and more in love with this boy by the minute!  He is so happy and smiley!  He now weighs 14lb, 13 oz (50th %tile), is 24 3/4 inches long (50th %ile), wears size 6-9 month clothes, and size 2 diapers (but not much longer- and whoops, I ordered a case of 204 size 2 diapers online!  UGH!)  He was just cleared to start baby foods, like rice cereal!  He has rolled from his tummy to his back and is ready to reach out and grab things any minute now!  He stares so intently!


Kenny and I have realized that we treat Finn so differently than the girls- we are already rough and tough with him!  Kenny barks at him and he laughs!  I throw him in the air and he laughs…everything rough is fun for Finn- such a BOY.  He is now using a Jumperoo and loves it, and his Exersaucer is out now, too!  He is so content to just be watching people!  I took him to Delaney’s kindergarten orientation and he sat and listened to the Principal speak for an hour and was so happy just to look at all of the people.  He had his first haircut because his little mohawk started to curl over!  Now it's more of a "tame" mohawk!  We love it!  His hair is starting to fall out in weird spots- he's got a little male pattern baldness with a mohawk!  We are also starting to see some blonde hairs coming in...can't wait to see what this boy ends up looking like!  Everyone says he is identical to Lucy now...but Lucy as a baby looked very different!  We'll see! We recently hired Ruthie Belle to babysit Finn since Nana and Papa left to go to MA for the summer, and he seems to love her!  She fits right in and will watch all 3 kids over the summer when the girls are done with school.  She even does the kids laundry, cleans, and changes their sheets…I really love her!  Hehe!


We have some concerns that we shared with the doctor at Finn's 4 month appointment.  He still likes to be swaddled and doesn't settle down very well to sleep on his own.  He is waking up ALOT throughout the night and just needs his binky to fall back asleep, but that is getting very old!  The doctor increased his acid reflux meds thinking that he may be in pain during the night.  She also ordered blood tests to test his sugar levels as that could be a reason for his arm shaking.  He also is still having the stinky poops, so they are going to do a stool culture. Poor kid!!

Bibbity Bobbity Boutique

Ava invited Delaney and Sarah to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique at Downtown Disney for her 5th birthday!  The girls wore their Princess outfits and had their hair, nails, and makeup done by their "Fairy Godmother in  Training." They had a great time and loved running through Downtown Disney dressed as Princesses! Delaney was Snow White!

“When is it Mother’s Day for Daddy’s?” 2011

I had a great Mother’s Day…my first as a mother of 3!  The day started as I got to sleep in until 8am!  The girls made me breakfast…Delaney chose an everything bagel with cream cheese which she put on.  Lucy chose an orange for me!  I had a dozen of Kenny and my wedding roses and a box of chocolates waiting for me!  Delaney made me a magnet with her photo and a cute questionnaire that she filled out with my “likes” including the color pink, swimming in the pool, and salad!  Lucy made me a butterfly magnet, and an adorable oven mitt with her hand print on it.  We hung out a bit and then went on a drive and I got a Starbucks’s Frappuccino!  I then got a pedicure with Maria and Jeannine, which was so relaxing!  I came home to a nice BBQ lunch with a margarita!  We all had a lot of fun swimming and playing with the girls in the pool- Lucy is getting to be a great swimmer!  Dan and Rhonda came over and had dinner with us.  Kenny surprised me with a delicious meal- London Broil done perfectly, roasted potatoes, asparagus, and a steamed Maine lobster!  I was so surprised!  This was the first Mother’s Day that the girls actually “got it” and enjoyed pampering me!  Delaney said her favorite part of the day was making me breakfast!  Awww!  I had the best day, I can’t wipe the smile off my face!  I have the best husband to orchestrate it all! Oh, and the above quote is from Lucy...as well as "Hey guys, it's Finn's 1st Mother's Day!"  

Snow White's Meltdown!

Delaney and Lucy went to a "Dress Up" birthday party...Delaney as Snow White and Lucy as Belle!  They had a great time at the party and afterward....the sugar crash!  She was having a tantrum and Kenny ran and got the camera, which got her even more mad!
